Descrição

Objectives:
  • Consolidate learnings of advanced level in the scientific area of Social Work;
  • Strengthen knowledge of identification, measurement, and analysis of social needs and their relationship withresponses and interventions;
  • Stimulate reflection on the complexity of contemporary theoretical and methodological configurations of social work,as a scientific and professional subject;
  • Deepen the epistemological issues of research in Social Work and contribute to the consolidation and production ofprofessional scientific knowledge in the area of social intervention;
  • Produce knowledge that encourages the construction of proposals of public policy for social intervention;
  • Stimulate the critical evaluation of results, processes, and social dynamics of the implementation of public policies;
  • Stimulate and contribute to the management of scientific and professional learning processes throughout life.

Competences to develop:
  • Develop analytical skills based on recent contributions from social and human sciences that allow the adaptation ofsocial intervention processes owing to the complexity, contradictions, and opacity of current societies;
  • Develop analytical-operative skills that allow the adaptation of social intervention to current societies;
  • Develop analytical and argumentative skills that enhance reflexivity and critical analysis required in the scope ofpublic policies;
  • Develop the reflective capacity about Social Work;
  • Increase the innovative and creative capacity in the contexts and processes of intervention and train for theobjectification of professional experiences that guarantee the transferability of theoretical and practical knowledge;
  • Consolidate the ethical and political values of Social Work.
